Financial Assistance

Every day, the Alleghany Highlands YMCA offers quality, affordable programs and services designed to benefit people of all incomes and backgrounds. The Y uses contributions from our Annual Campaign to ensure that those unable to pay the full amount for a membership or program can participate.

Those unable to pay the full fee may receive Financial Assistance based on their ability to pay and the Y’s ability to support. Through this Financial Assistance, which is based on household income level, you may apply for membership and most programs, like Kids’ Night Out, Youth Sports, and more!

Please visit our Welcome Desk for more information and bring with you:

  • Completed Financial Assistance Application

  • One of the following forms:

  • 1040 Tax Form

  • If you do not file taxes, we’ll ask you to complete Form 4506-T (Line 7: IRS Verification of Non-filing Letter)

  • Documentation for all individuals receiving income in the household (required in order to complete the application process).

Start enjoying your YMCA Membership as soon as we verify and process your Financial Assistance application!

Please note that the Y will request income verification every six (6) months to ensure your current membership rate matches your current household income level. Failure to provide updated income documentation will result in membership & facility usage being placed on hold. All records are kept confidential.
