YMCA Adventure Summer Day Camps
Ages 5-12 years of age
Monday- Friday 9am- 4p
Summer Adventure Camps at the YMCA are starting points for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and to develop healthy habits they will carry with them throughout their lives. The benefits are far greater than just physical health. Gain confidence from learning to swim or learning good sportsmanship and teamwork by participating in sports. At the Alleghany Highlands YMCA campers will learn the values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.
Y camps provide an exciting, safe community for youth to explore the outdoors, build self-esteem, develop interpersonal skills and make lasting friendships.

The fun continues with an engaging fire safety program and a splash-tastic water day to beat the heat!
Week 3 | July 6–10 — Volcano Week!
Science meets adventure in this explosive week! Campers will build and erupt their own volcanoes, fish at Coles Point, tour the White Sulphur fish hatchery, and picnic. The excitement peaks with a trip to Lost World Caverns for gem mining—who knows what treasures they’ll find?
Week 4 | July 13–17 — Science, Safari & Splash!
Curiosity and adventure take center stage! Campers will dive into hands-on science experiments, enjoy a sunny beach day at Coles Point, and head out on a thrilling trip to Natural Bridge Safari Park. Add in homemade ice cream and a fun-filled water day, and this week is the perfect grand finale to camp!
*It is a requirement that campers can use the bathroom independently. Due to our abuse prevention training and field trips, our staff is unable to assist in any bathroom care, including changing for swim time. Accidents happen; however, a parent will be notified if/when it occurs so they can pick up their camper.
